ChuChu: I never regard “Prestigious schools” schools as my own label

ChuChu: I never regard “Prestigious schools” schools as my own label

Welcome to the YZone Studio channel! Today we are going to interview ChuChu, who was once a typical "other people's child". She graduated from the Arabic major of Peking University and then studied at Harvard Law School. After graduation, she came to New York and worked in a top large law firm. Later, she founded her own cheongsam (a Chinese style of dress worn by men and women) brand, which is called Eukari. She is independent and successful in her career. She is the independent woman that many girls dream of.

"other people's child", what did she do right?

“I've been someone who follows routines since I was a child and don't need others to supervise me” Said by ChuChu. She has been a well-behaved and sensible girl since she was young. During this process, her family paved the way for her, and she also followed her family's requirements steadily. But the process is not always smooth. After ChuChu graduated from Peking University with a degree in Arabic, she had a hard time finding a job because this type of major is only suitable for boys. But fortunately, ChuChu's "academic halo" has always been there. With her efforts, she successfully entered Harvard Law School, with a large cross-disciplinary attitude, and after graduating from Harvard, she went to work in a large local law firm in the US.

Get rid of the "halo of heritage schools", start her own business

Although Chuchu joined a large law firm and earned a high salary that many people dream of, she was not as happy as she imagined. "Daily work is boring every day, and I prefer to work with clients." Chuchu said that the fast pace and repetitive work of large law firms made her feel bored and even depressed. So she decided to start over. Based on her love for the fashion industry since childhood, she came up with the idea of creating an independent cheongsam  brand. She said: "It is normal for everyone to be unhappy in their existing environment. At this time, you should not be anxious, but calm down and pay attention to your inner thoughts and find what you are good at and what you love, especially for small startups, which need their own flash of inspiration and enthusiasm."

The brand was "stolen"?

Not everything went smoothly during Chuchu's entrepreneurial journey. At first, when she designed the brand's first sample garment, she found that there was already a brand with the same name in Texas. The brand had been active on Instagram for a year and had established a good consumer service system. This discovery hit Chuchu hard. "Even if I was very frustrated at the time, I couldn't argue because the other party had indeed worked hard for a year." Fortunately, Chuchu registered her second alternative brand name as a trademark in time. Through this incident, Chuchu also told us that in the process of entrepreneurship, if you think of an idea, you must quickly put it into practice, get feedback in a timely manner, and conduct preliminary market research to see if others are already doing similar brands or trademarks-this itself is a process of continuous trial and error and iteration.
